Reports to the Project Superintendent

Ford Construction Company Inc., a heavy civil engineering general contractor, is seeking a union Foreman. This is a full time position.

Job Description:

Responsible for all day-to-day jobsite activities including maintaining a safe and productive work site, ensuring that the project is completed on schedule and within budget

Duties:
  • Interprets plans and specifications
  • Coordination of project union employees
  • Enforcement of mandated and company regulations to include; union, safety, environmental, labor laws, and emissions
  • Communicate manpower, materials, consumables, and subcontractor needs to supervisor
  • Ensure that work is being perform in accordance with the project schedule
  • Ordering material and coordinating trucks for deliveries, if necessary
  • Maintaining site specific SWPPP
  • Quality control and safety inspections
  • Management of the crew(s)
  • Evaluation of employee skills, coordination of training when necessary
  • Ensuring compliance with union regulations
  • Heavy Job timecards and verification of crew timecards
  • Weekly tailgate safety meetings
  • All required safety documents
  • Daily equipment inspections

Qualifications:
  • Union member (Operating Engineers Local 3 or Northern California District Council of Laborers
  • Prior California employment in a similar position or trade
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of union master agreements
  • Knowledge of regulations concerning safety, environmental, hazmat, labor laws, and emission
  • Able to work outside, maneuver in difficult terrain, and overtime as needed
  • Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Competent Person, 40 hour Hazwoper
  • Computer skills
  • Commitment to an injury free workplace
