Reports to the Operations Manager
Ford Construction Company Inc., a heavy civil engineering general contractor, is seeking a Project Manager. This is a full time position. Compensation is based on qualifications, with generous benefits.
Job Description:
Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of multiple projects on schedule and within budget
Duties:
- Interprets plans and specifications
- Work with estimators on production and review of bid proposals
- Develops/create the project budget breakdown
- Creates the overall work plan and master schedule
- Oversee all project administration
- Compose and negotiates all subcontractor and supplier contracts
- Manage, train, and develop project staff
- Ensure contract compliance
- Prepares and submits project billings
- Track job revenue and costs, quantities and monthly forecasts to complete
- Schedule/coordinate subcontractors and material
- Enforcement of mandated and company regulations to include; union, safety, environmental, labor laws, and emissions
- Change order pricing and negotiations
- Safety and Quality Control for the project(s)
- Invoice approval
Qualifications:
- Prior California employment in a field operation including site development, scheduling, material procurement, subcontractor/vendor coordination, safety implementation
- Degree – Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management
- Able to interpret project plans, specifications, and contracts
- Experience with computer equipment and software; Excel, Agtek 4D, HCSS Heavy Bid, Vista by Viewpoint. Scheduling software; MS Projects, Primavera
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to communicate logically and professionally both in writing and orally
- Highly motivated and hard-working
- Knowledge of union master agreements
- Able to work outside, maneuver in difficult terrain, and overtime as needed
- Highly motivated and hard working with strong organization and leadership skills
- Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Competent Person, 40 hour Hazwoper
